Cihaz, KNXnet/IP protokolünü (Yönlendirme ve Tünelleme) kullanarak hızlı hat ve alan bağlayıcı olarak görev yapar. 0-31 arası ana gruplar için tam filtre tablosu desteği sunan ürün, sistem güvenliğini ve performansını artırır. Teknik özellikler arasında 12...30 V DC harici besleme veya PoE (IEEE 802.3af sınıf 1) üzerinden güç alma seçeneği bulunur. Ürünün güç kaybı 1.5 W seviyesindedir. 5 adet tünelleme sunucusu sayesinde birden fazla istemci üzerinden ETS programlamasına olanak tanır. IP adresi ataması sabit veya DHCP üzerinden gerçekleştirilebilir. Standart çok noktaya yayın (Multicast) iletişimi kapatıldığında, 10 adede kadar IPR/S 3.1.1 ünitesi tek noktaya yayın (Unicast) üzerinden haberleşebilir. DIN rayına (MDRC) monte edilecek şekilde tasarlanan cihaz, 36 mm (2 modül) genişliğinde, 90 mm yüksekliğinde ve 64,5 mm derinliğindedir.
