- KNX+ Certified Training Center: This designation indicates that a training center is accredited by the KNX Association to be able to offer KNX Basic and Advanced level courses.
- KNX HVAC ‘Specialist’ Certified Training Center: This classification is based on a training center's KNX Basic and HVAC Indicates that the specialist is authorized to deliver courses.
- KNX++ Certified Training Center: A training center with this accreditation is authorized to offer KNX Basic, Advanced and Instructor courses.
- Course KNX: Refers to various training programs such as Basic, Advanced, KNX HVAC Specialist, Instructor or Refresher courses. These courses may include theoretical and/or practical exams and may be conducted in online or face-to-face sessions.
- KNX Instructor: KNX Eğitmeni, Eğitmen kursu sınavını başarıyla geçmiş bir kişidir. KNX kursları düzenleme yetkisine sahiptir ve teorik sınavda en az %80 başarı elde etmeleri koşuluyla Eğitmen kursları vermelerine izin verilir.
- Online (Theoretical) Exam: This is a True/False quiz that the student can access through their MyKNX account and requires an internet connection in the classroom.
- Offline (Theoretical) Exam: It is a True/False test administered when there is no internet connection in the classroom.
- KNX Preparation Basic/Advanced Level Course: It is an informal online course covering basic or advanced topics of KNX.
- KNX Virtual: This application simulates a range of KNX devices, providing a graphical representation of their functionality. By using ETS (Engineering Tool Software) in combination with KNX Virtual, various scenarios and actions can be simulated in a KNX system.
- KNX Training Documentation: Refers to training materials provided for different KNX courses, including Basic, Advanced, HVAC Specialist, Instructor or Refresher courses.
- Self-educated Person: A person who has significant theoretical and/or practical knowledge of KNX and ETS but does not hold a KNX training certificate.
- MyKNX: MyKNX is a web tool designed by the KNX Association for ETS licensees, KNX members, KNX training centers and KNX Partners. It acts as a central platform for various target groups within the KNX ecosystem.
Training and Certification Process
KNX Certification is designed to enable skilled personnel to correctly configure, install and commission KNX installations. To become a KNX certified training center, an organization must create an ‘organization’ in their MyKNX account and complete the online application under “Account / Applications / Become a KNX Certified Training Center”.
Once the application is submitted, it is evaluated by the KNX Association. If the application meets the required criteria, the training center receives an order for 500€ in the MyKNX account. After accepting and paying the order, the training center is officially approved as a KNX certified training center. This status gives access to a large number of training resources and positions the center as a reputable institution within the KNX community.
Certification Phase and Audit
After successful evaluation of the requested documents (including KNX trainer certificate, photos, invoices for training equipment and invoices for media equipment), the KNX Association issues the relevant KNX certificate to the training center.
To ensure continued compliance with the KNX certification program, the KNX Association conducts regular audits. This audit includes monitoring the training center's compliance with program requirements through online satisfaction surveys completed by KNX students. In addition, surprise on-site audits may also be conducted to verify compliance. The costs incurred during these audits are covered by the KNX training center.
